Located near the entrance of Grass Lawn Park, the Orchard and Pea Patch Preschools are directed by the mother and daughter team of Ewa and Kasia Radka. The schools emphasize an organic approach to early childhood education and include a spiritual component, rooted in the Catholic faith but welcoming to all families who embrace Christian values.
The two preschools are situated on a lush parcel of land which includes fruit and vegetable gardens and a large play space with a covered area. Outdoor heaters will help to keep kids cozy in inclement weather.
"We want the kids to be outside as much as possible. They're going to be sitting in a classroom for the next 13 years," - Kasia Radka.
Classes will be limited to 12 children each and provide a "home-like environment" where young children can blossom. "The classes will be mixed in age, because all kids develop differently on both social and academic levels, and learn from one another" - Ewa Radka.
"We want to make it personalized — not institutionalized. Give kids more choices of themes, focused on their needs." - Kasia Radka.
